Mark Hewitt is a writer and performer. Recent projects include a play, Farmed Out, first performed at the Pride of Place Festival in Woodbridge, Suffolk, during April 2006 and a short radio piece for BBC Southern Counties, Funny Couple, broadcast as part of a new writing project during June 2006. He was also a contributor to the award winning City Running exhibition as part of Brighton Fringe Festival 2006 responding to the city at night-time.
As a performer he acted in Komedia Productions Catastrophe, a sequence of four late Beckett plays. Currently he is developing a one man show based on a collection of word sketches of nude figures. He has worked on a number of cross artform collaborations for performance including Purgations, based around a sequence of meditative poems with music for string sextet by composer Peter Copley and images by visual artist Tom Walker.
He is the Artistic Director of the Lewes Live Literature Festival and a freelance programmer of literature events.
