Tamara Groen

Tamara Groen

Tamara is an eclectic and vibrant theatre practitioner. She is a passionate deviser, performer, director and explorer of creative practice. She strives to craft stimulating theatrical experiences, which are intimate, challenging and unique.

Graduated from Rose Bruford College with a BA Hons in European Theatre Arts, her training stimulated her interest in unusual and devised theatre, which resulted in the formation of Usanu Theatre. As the co-Artistic Director, Tamara has worked extensively with Usanu Theatre, both as a performer, director and workshop leader.

Tamara regularly facilitates drama-based workshops and has lead sessions for children, youths and adults in the UK and Tobago, West Indies. Her passions also lie in social, issue- based theatre, especially that which aims at giving women and disadvantaged young adults a voice. Tamara is an artist who is fascinated by physical expression and the truths that can be conveyed through it. She is inspired by the bizarre and the surreal and by the encounters and moments which make up her daily world.
